Nut Hatch Sitta europaea
Though in greater profusion in the south, the Nut Hatch can be found in both woods and gardens. Its clear thrush-like whistles and bubbling calls, blue-grey back, black stripe through its eye and pinkish underparts and its jerky movement all make it quite unmistakable. As its name implies this bird is mainly a nut eater and will feed happily on a nut feeder. Small (14cm)
